Hey - Orange Door is 1! It's Facebook Offical (+ Five Things!)

Well, it’s been a a year since Orange Door Strategies has been Facebook official (Thanks Facebook Memories!). An exhilarating, exhausting, scary and invigorating year. How do you measure a year (sorry- it’s sort of a gimme, right)?

  • By great clients that gave us a shot right out of the gate (check).

  • Supportive friends that brainstorm, encourage and are there for a much needed break in the action (check).

  • Amazing vendors to work with that innovate with us (check).

  • And of course, my family that has cheered me on through lots of long days and late nights (check, check).

Thanks for all the love, texts, notes, knocks on the door, screenshots of everything and anything orange, coffee meetings, likes and encouragement thus far. ODS has been lucky to build a network of creative collaborators to inspire scroll-stopping feeds, powerful presentations and videos, mighty powerful marketing materials and big, bold brands.

The future is bright. BRIGHT ORANGE.

Since it was a fun weekend for us on Facebook, our next installment of 5 Things is THE FACEBOOK EDITION. 10 minutes of tips, tricks and hacks to increase engagement on one of our favorite platforms.

Fancy up your profile

Take advantage of the vanity URL feature (so fans can find you and share easily), Double check that your basic info is up to date and glam up your story section.  This is a great place for people to get to know you (hint: it is in under the about tab)

Ready to Open the Door wider? Try a video cover (can be up to 20 seconds long) – wowzer. Lovin’ what we see from some friends that already have them.

Showcase your best work and what is most important

Pin your favs and vital info to the top of your Facebook page. Whether it’s an announcement, a promotion, or just a high-performing post that your audience already loves. What a great (and FREE) way to get more eyeballs on the message. Quick how-to: As admin, pin a post by clicking the ellipsis button in the post’s top right corner.

 Frame It

Facebook photo and video overlay are a fun and creative way to engage your audience. A simple photo frame can be created in a snap using the Camera Effects tool.

Ready to open the Door wider? A full video overlay takes some technical know-how. Well worth the investment.

Tell a Story. A Facebook Story.

These haven’t taken off as quickly as Instagram stories – which just means more space for you to be seen.  And Stories seem to bypass the algorithm gods - getting you infront of a larger swath of your audience, organically.

Ready to open the Door wider? Test out the new Stories ads. There are some pretty features like 360 degree photos, and augmented reality tools. Not to mention the Group Stories feature, that lets anyone attending an event to contribute to a Story roll. (I know you just thought of a million ways to use that!)

Messenger Bots

Want to meet potential customers where they are? Facebook users exchange 1 BILLION messages with businesses on Facebook a month.  Are you set-up for success? It’s super easy.  Set-up your username, enable messaging (in settings), set-up instant replies and greetings (yup, in settings). Be sure to manage your response time – Facebook let’s users know how quickly you normally respond. Don’t forget to change the status when you are away.

Ready to open the door wider? Facebook Chatbots. Chances are you have one on your website (and if you don’t, you should). Take the time to set one up on Facebook too.   It can send out messages and responds to users automatically. Pretty dreamy, huh?
